Scott M. Zimmer, MD, has been a leading hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgeon in northeast Ohio for more than a decade. He provides expert care for all disorders of the hand, elbow and shoulder from fracture care to joint replacement, including the latest arthroscopic treatments.
A member of Lake Health’s Physician Group, Dr. Zimmer has been named one of Cleveland’s best orthopedic and hand surgeons over the last five years by his peers in the medical field. At the new Lake Health Beachwood Medical Center, Dr. Zimmer serves as Department Chair of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery as well as Vice President of Medical Staff. Prior to launching Ohio Hand to Shoulder Center, Dr. Zimmer directed the Hand and Upper Extremity Center for UH Geauga Medical Center for 10 years.
Dr. Zimmer completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University with honors. He graduated first in his class from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. His advanced training in surgery of the hand, elbow and shoulder was completed at The University of Florida, Shands Hospital.
Dr. Zimmer is a board-certified member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, a select group of top hand surgeons in the US.
